Today was the second day of the of the Northern Virginia Brewfest. It was also, my friend Steph’s birthday. I met up with Matt, Kristin, Steph and Steph’s friend, Diana at the brewfest to celebrate Steph’s birthday and to enjoy some fun, food, and fine fermentations! The day started off a little later than expected due to travel arrangements and weather delays, but luckily everything worked out perfectly. We all pretty much arrived at the same time, and the early rain moved out and we had a rather nice day for the event. There is no need for me to explain the concept of the brewfest, or explain that there were over 40 breweries represented there, or even that there was lots of food and music. So, I will just say that when you mix all of those things with good friends, you end up with an incredibly fun time. Here are a couple of pictures of me and the crew:
Here is the whole group (left to right: Diana, Steph (the birthday girl), Me, Matt, and Kristin).

Proof that all women love the Big Mexican Dinner.

These are the people I spend most of my evenings with at O’Malley’s, (one more time from left to right: Steph, Me and Double Chin, Matt, and Kristin) they’re all great friends (except Double Chin, he’s a pain in the ass). We had a blast.

In keeping with the theme from Brewfest Day 1, I figured I’d take a few pictures of random strangers as well.

As I mentioned at the beginning of September, I have given up alcohol until New Year. Of course, I also mentioned at the same time that the one exception was the Northern Virginia Fall Brewfest. So, today I officially broke my Beer Fast at the Brewfest. My buddy, Ethan, and I arrived at Bull Run Park [...]

Dear Little Red-Haired Girl,
I noticed your red hair before I noticed your blue Cowboys jersey. Of course, I couldn’t walk up and mention your hair without looking like a creepy fat man, especially considering that you look awfully young. So, I stuck with complimenting your jersey instead. I really am a Cowboys fan, so it wasn’t [...]

All, please read the following letter from Congressman Ron Paul. He’s still right. After you’ve read it, please visit his Campaign for Liberty Website. If you’re feeling really spunky, call or write your Congressman or Senator and tell them to knock it off. We cannot afford to let the government fuck us any longer.
Dear Friends:
The financial [...]

Today is September 19th, which means that it is officially International Talk Like a Pirate Day! In honor of this glorious day, I encourage everyone to play a game of Sid Meier’s Pirates!
Here are two famous “pirate flags.” One is the typical Jolly Rogers, which is actually the flag of notorious pirate Jack Rackham (AKA Calico [...]

Dear Galveston,
The thing I remember most about Hurricane Katrina (other than the aftermath) was seeing it on the TV in the Gulf of Mexico and saying to myself, “Damn, that’s a big fucker.” Well, I haven’t seen anything like it until now. Ike’s a big fucker. I’d be hauling ass if I were you!
Anyway, [...]

Today I want to wish three of my Army buddies Happy Birthdays. Lee’s is late (9th), Doug’s is early (13th), and Kelly’s is right on time (today).
Kelly,
You were my battle buddy during some of the shittiest moments of my life. You always had a sense of humor, you always kept my morale up, and you never [...]
